Our GateKeeper Tire Carrier is designed for those of us who love to wheel, and push the limits of your Jeep and your own driving capabilities. By moving the spare tire into the tub of your Jeep, you gain so many different benefits.

To start with, departure angle. By taking the spare off the back of your Jeep, if you do come off an obstacle steep enough to catch the rear bumper, you won't be getting hung up on that spare tire.

The second benefit is just that, not catching the spare on anything and bending your tire swing into the tub. This will help avoid body damage in extreme wheeling conditions.

Third, it provides better weight distribution.

By moving the spare tire over the rear axle, you move the weight forward in your vehicle enabling a more balanced and predictable ride. It works with both hard tops and soft tops, and even the fastback soft tops!

Simply bolt down your hard top over the carrier and seal it up with a gasket material (not supplied). This keeps it just as easy as it was before to remove and reinstall your hard top.
